Small Protein, Big Impact: Microprotein Discovery Offers Hope for Obesity and Aging

Researchers have uncovered a tiny but powerful protein that helps keep our cells’ energy factories humming – a discovery that could spark new approaches to tackling obesity and age-related decline. Scientists at the Salk Institute in La Jolla found that a  “microprotein”  in mouse fat cells plays a critical role in maintaining healthy  mitochondria , the structures that generate energy in our cells. By preserving mitochondrial function, this diminutive protein helps cells burn fuel efficiently, which in turn could influence body weight and the aging process. The findings shine light on how molecular biology connects to everyday health, opening the door to  science-backed strategies for better metabolism and longevity. Global warming and its effects on human survival

Even after so much research and publicity from scientific world and politicians, many people among us and around the world has no idea what global warming is and how it affects the human survival in the coming years. Climate change and its effects are already evident in many parts of the world such as recent cyclone in Myanmar, hurricane in US, tsunamis and high temperatures overall. I have uploaded a video from National Geographic channel that explains the ill effects of global warming. I hope it helps atleast a few people to get some information and idea of how bad it is and make their contribution to reducing this problem by using less energies in their homes and not wasting the natural resources.
